about
Seashells was written in 2007. It's an explanation from one young person to another about the need to create, which seems stronger than duality. One party feels that people are drawn to the beautiful. But leaves for the ugly. Although, paradoxically enough, they met precisely on those grounds.
lyrics
I paint myself black.
Trying to open beautiful seashells.
This brutal trawling on our ocean floors.
Has made us shut our shells.
But with bare feet, I’ll stroll the corals.
The words, the tone of sorrows.
I gotta keep close to the well.
Thirst will suffocate me.
But I do it for you babe,
I’ll close on the weekends.
Cause you held on to the word.
There is, nothing that I’ve heard that is,
vivid enough to, describe you.
Think I can hold my breath,
that long.
You felt my mystery was joyful.
But you felt sorry for my melancholic mind.
It will never correspond to your troubles.
I can’t overlook the sadness of these times.
And that’s why, my eyes,
sometimes for you go blind.
Trying to tell her over the telephone.
But silence speaks with a foreign tone.
To wish to be solo means not necessarily alone.
But I do it for you babe,
I’ll close on the weekends.
Cause you held on to the word.
There is, nothing that I’ve heard that is,
vivid enough to, describe you.
Think I can hold my breath.
Yeah I do it for you babe,
I’ll close on the weekends.
Cause you held on to your word.
There is, nothing that I’ve heard that is,
vivid enough to, describe you.
Think I can hold my breath that long.
